Strategic Plan

With the input of more than 6,100 Kansans and the needs of our youngest Kansans fresh in our minds, we are mapping our state’s future direction for early childhood. Now it’s time to take what we’ve learned from the 2019 Needs Assessment and turn it into action. We aim to craft a Strategic Plan that ensures Every Child Thrives.

This plan builds upon the Children’s Cabinet Blueprint for Early Childhood and its promotion of Healthy Development, Strong Families, and Early Learning. From our 2019 Needs Assessment work, we have identified four additional Areas of Focus to begin improving outcomes at the system level: 1. Connected Families, Connected Communities, 2. Early Childhood Workforce, 3. System Alignment and Integration, and 4. Innovation and Scaling.

We need your input! Please visit the links below to review draft goals and potential strategies and tactics for each of the Focus Areas. Then click the link to the survey form to tell us what you think, where you see your own work and ambitions in the plan, and where you don’t. We want to know what you value most and where we seem to be missing the mark.
